Stop At: Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Center, Sheikh Rashid Bin Saeed Street, 5th St, Abu Dhabi United Arab Emirates
Discover one of the largest mosques in the world, which can host more than 40,000 worshipers at once. Marvel at the incredible architecture and jaw-dropping interior of this place.
The mosque was built of marble in 2007. Inside it has the world’s biggest Iranian carpet with 5,628 m2 and weighing 47 tons, seven German chandeliers, decorated with leaf-gold and Austrian Swarowski crystals. The main chandelier was the biggest in the world up to 2010 but it still is the biggest chandelier installed in a mosque. The mosque also features fascinating calligraphy art.

Take a time trip into the times when the oil deposits weren’t discovered and the life of Arabs was completely different from what we see today. Visit an ethnographic Heritage Village and learn how bazaars, mosques, and Bedouin camps looked like those times.
Strolling through the installations you’ll be able to watch potters, glassblowers, weavers, and other craftsmen doing their job. It is an interesting place showing the way people lived in an Arabic oasis. You can buy here some pieces of craft, dried herbs, handmade soap, and souvenirs.

You won’t be disappointed after coming inside either. There are official reception halls, historic tours, multimedia shows, which tell about the history of emirates from ancient times, presents collection, ancient artifacts exhibition, a huge library with more than 50,000 available books. Be astonished by the splendid interior decoration: delicate mosaics, golden writings, shining marble plates, all rooms have crystal lamps.
It’s worth noting that color pallet only includes three colors: blue (symbolizing skies), yellow (sand in Rub Al Khali desert), and white (kandura, ankle-length male garment). The complex’s territory includes a huge space and green blooming gardens on 150 hectares.
